With more than 30 years experience working in the recruitment industry, we have amassed a professional and passionate team that are dedicated to matching the right client with the right role.
A History of Design graduate, Tessa has a great appreciation for culture and organisation. She believes that the effectiveness of any team is based on the personal chemistry of its members. Early in her career Tessa thrived as PA to a senior director. It is this understanding that provides the guiding philosophy to the RMS brand of recruiting. In Tessa’s opinion the reason for the success of RMS, and the extraordinary client loyalty it enjoys, is the particular care taken to match client and candidate. As a young recruiter Tessa worked for one of the market leading London consultancies and was exposed to a wide spectrum of responsibilities that prepared her for a senior management role. Once given commercial responsibility, initially for a failing division, Tessa proved her business development credentials by turning the practise to profit within her first few months of operation. This success led to further professional development and qualification with additional responsibility for staff training in the disciplines of: Recruitment Law, Financial Targeting and Sales.
A short spell outside the recruitment industry followed as Tessa joined a US based, high growth, consultancy, where she was responsible for finance and company secretarial matters including HR and senior consultant recruitment. The operation grew from a satellite office to a mid-sized leader in its field within two years.
In 2000 Tessa partnered with former colleague Kate Rawlings to form RMS Recruitment where her business acumen balanced well with Kate’s business development and client relations credentials.
Kate launched her career in France working for Moët, the exclusive champagne house, which she followed with a spell at a top West End fashion house. Great charm and highly developed social skills have propelled Kate to becoming an exceptional networker and client account director.
In her first recruitment role at a leading secretarial consultancy she became the top fee earner. She progressed to manage a team of six consultants and develop an exclusive and enviable client base.
As an experienced recruiter, Kate took up the opportunity to live and work in Budapest. At a major search and selection company she used her ‘English charm’ to successfully recruit and place middle management despite a significant language barrier in a fiercely tough recruitment market.
On returning to the UK, Kate worked as a senior consultant recruiting for the recruitment industry. After two successful years Kate decided to apply her skill and contacts to strike out on her own. It was then that Kate caught up with and partnered Tessa, whom she had worked with for four years previously. The combination of her exceptional success with client relationships for recruitment and Tessa’s operational expertise has proved to be a winning formula.
Natasha joined RMS as a Consultant in July 2010 from Financial PR Consultancy, Tulchan Communications. Natasha had been with Tulchan for more than 8 years as an Account Administrator where she was responsible for the coordination of client account teams and logistical support surrounding companies’ public announcements and senior management media programmes. Natasha was at Weber Shandwick for two years before that and had been a client and candidate before joining RMS as a Consultant.
Yana is a consultant on the Temp Team. After graduating from the University of Surrey with a 2:1 in Law and International Studies, Yana decided that although she loved interacting with clients, Law wasn’t a career path that she wanted to pursue. She worked as a Recruitment Consultant for Page Group in Guildford where she recruited permanent positions across the Surrey area. Having gained a good foundation and with a flair for matching the right fit, Yana was keen to move away from the focus on sales. When she registered with RMS, she immediately fell in love with their unusual approach to recruitment and the wonderful company culture. She was thrilled when the team, who had impressed her at interview, offered her a role as a consultant. Having joined the company in January 2015, Yana has been enjoying the fast paced temp process and has gained great satisfaction from filling roles satisfying both her candidates and clients in a supportive and collaborative culture.
Lucy joined RMS in June 2017 as a Consultant in the permanent team. Prior to joining, Lucy spent three years at a Business Psychology Consultancy, YSC. Lucy started as a Personal Assistant and Project Manager in their London headquarters, before being selected for a six month secondment to their Sydney office as a Client Manger. Her secondment allowed her to fully immerse herself in a new working culture, gaining experience with clients across the globe as well as assisting with their internal recruitment. Lucy’s time at YSC gave her first-hand knowledge of what is required to be a high level assistant in a Global firm. She loved the fast pace and variation of clients she engaged with. Lucy started her career in London as a Financial Planning Assistant dealing with high profile clients, enjoying the structure and new skills the role provided. Lucy moved to London in 2011 following her graduation from the University of St Andrews with an MA 2.1 in Art History. Lucy has found the perfect combination of satisfying her fascination with what makes people tick and enjoying roles working closely with clients, in her position at RMS Recruitment.
Laura graduated with a 1st in Art History from UCL and took a year out to gain experience in the art world before completing her MA at The Courtauld Institute. A year of libraries and lonely self-study inspired a complete career change... Still wanting to work with beautiful things, but within a more fast-paced, dynamic environment, Laura joined House of Fraser on the shop floor, juggling this role whilst studying Fashion Buying at the London College of Fashion. Laura worked hard and grew at House of Fraser for four years, progressing to the position of Junior Buyer and worked with exciting fashion brands such as Micheal Kors, Acne and McQ. Despite thoroughly enjoying the fashion world, Laura decided that she wanted to continue with a personable, client facing role, but without the hectic travel required in buying. In June 2014 she went to RMS for career advice and absolutely loved the unusual recruitment ethos and infectious culture. Having joined the team in August 2014 as a Permanent Consultant, Laura has now found her happiest home at RMS.
Kathryn graduated from Leeds University with a 1st in Business Management and Marketing in 2013. With an interest in the marketing and sales side of business, she jumped into a live and interactive video streaming agency as an Account Manager, and thrived from working in a client-facing role with lots of responsibility managing accounts in fashion, corporate, publishing and music. Although Kathryn loved the role and industry for 1.5 years, the company lacked a team-orientated, friendly environment. Kathryn joined RMS in August 2015 due to many friends high recommendations, and loved how welcoming the team were and their unique approach to meeting new candidates. She was soon asked to temp for a week in their office as an extra pair of hands and although recruitment was not an immediate passion, the team culture definitely was and she was therefore over the moon when they asked her to come on board as a Permanent Consultant. Kathryn loves the level of interaction that recruitment offers, and thrives on the challenge of finding the perfect fit between the client, candidate and role.
