In awe of some of our exceptional candidates, RMS Recruitment is celebrating International Women’s Day this Sunday 8th March by featuring a few of the candidates that have gone far and beyond their job specification.
First up is Selina, who came to see us in 2007 looking for a stepping stone to greater things: RMS placed her at Winch Design as a Junior Designer and we were very proud of her promotion to Partner in June 2018. Her creativity is still winning Winch business 13 years later!

What does International Women’s Day mean to you?
International Women’s Day has always stood out to me as a strong marker for the strength of womanhood, a day in the year to reflect on and celebrate all that women have survived, changed, and will continue to change. It is also a day to reflect on the work that still remains, knowing that many women continue to be unheard, excluded from civil rights as institutional and government practices are both progressing and regressing. International Women’s Day is a day to continue to challenge the discrimination and inequities in education, economics, and legal rights in many societies. It is a day to remind ourselves that solidarity is everything, I think when women support each other, incredible things happen.
What piece of advice would you give to your younger self?
Don’t let fear stand in the way of what you really dream of doing and whatever you do, do it with absolute enthusiasm. Go at it full speed ahead, embrace it with both arms. Be passionate about it and believe in everything you do. Oh and save more and spend slightly less on shoes!.......... It’s just that life is so good with a new pair of shoes.
Here’s what Winch Design had to say about her: "Selina is invaluable within the Interiors team. Her outstanding level of creativity has been evident in the multiple yacht, aviation and architectural projects which she has completed. Effortlessly in charge of FFE and presenting Winch Design concepts and schemes to clients, Selina also mentors the junior team members."
