Research Associate Job Description

My client is hiring a proactive, entrepreneurial person with strong customer service focus, outstanding people skills and excellent attention to detail, to join this fantastic initiative within the financial services industry. The Research Associate will work with the consultant team to on-board, assess and target candidates.

My client is working with some of the UK's largest employers as well as SMEs in the financial sector.

The successful applicant will demonstrate a willingness to get involved with all aspects of the business as necessary, but the core responsibilities will be:

Research/Candidate Engagement

  • Working with the consultant team, be responsible for contacting and on-board incoming candidates to the company, quickly assessing and directing them
  • To accurately and succinctly profile and code these candidates, identifying their abilities, transferable skills, work history, character, personal situation, goals and motivations
  • Pro-actively identify relevant and high-quality candidates for introduction as required by the consultant team
  • Using a variety of sourcing strategies, quickly research and identify target candidates in line with consultant requirements, considering transferrable skills where applicable
  • To add profiles to the internal database and to ensure that all candidate details and notes are accurately and consistently populated and updated
  • To ensure that the internal database is up to date and accurate and that candidates are serviced in a timely and professional manner
  • To manage the meeting schedules for candidates either with clients or internally with the company
  • Research client companies and prepare data ahead of meetings
  • Marketing to potential new clients


  • Contribute to and support the processes and procedures necessary to maintain good practice within the recruitment industry
  • Upload data/CVs to client portals
  • Manage interviews administration
  • Create and prepare CVs, reports and presentations as needed
  • Meet and greet candidates to the office and assist with fielding calls

Research Associate Requirements

  • Have 2 years' + experience gained in Financial Services and Recruitment or Executive search
  • Be a firm and passionate believer in the vision of the company
  • Be proactive, decisive and a good problem solver whilst having a strong attention to detail
  • Be self-motivated, energetic, inquisitive and tenacious with a strong work ethic
  • Have excellent communication (both orally and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Have strong telephone presence and confidence
  • Must be computer literate and knowledgeable of resources available on the Internet
  • Must be comfortable operating in a highly professional environment
  • Have a warm and engaging disposition and the ability to put people at ease
  • Have energy, resourcefulness, positivity and a collegiate style (as well as a sense of humour!)


  • Hours 9 - 5.30 Monday to Friday
  • 28 days holiday a year including bank holidays + 3 days office closure over Christmas period
  • Salary: dependent upon experience
